Here's a look back at what happened at the Hub in October 2024.
Needs, Leads & Brags: Organizational Flexibility (October 9)
This month's Needs, Leads, & Brags, hosted by Hub Director Tony Rodriguez, focused on the idea of organizational flexibility. When should an organization (or employee) pivot to new or different offerings and skills? The topic carried over into the conversation at the Hub's 12th Anniversary Celebration.
We also invited Members to support the DMV Democracy Festival on Saturday, October 26th, where the Open Gov Hub hosted a table.
Celebrating 12 Years of Open Gov Hub (October 18)
This milestone wouldn't have been possible without YOU. Over the past 12 years, we've seen countless collaborations, ideas turned into realities, and businesses flourish under our roof. It has been an amazing journey, and we are so grateful for your ongoing support.
We celebrated with vibrant balloons, delicious food, and a fantastic sense of community. Our usual lightning talks transformed into an open, collaborative discussion about our sectors, funding challenges, and the realities of business. While we acknowledged the unfortunate closures of a few Hub Member organizations, the conversation sparked fresh ideas and reflections on how to build resilience together for a stronger future. Thank you for celebrating with us!

Virtual Reality Happy Hour (October 23)
We hosted a one-of-a-kind Happy Hour with the International Budget Partnership, TAI, and BudgIT, featuring an exciting twist: virtual reality! The VR brought a fresh perspective, showing how technology can bridge ideas and create shared experiences, even in professional settings. It was an opportunity for organizations committed to transparency and accountability to come together, discuss their initiatives, and explore ways to innovate for the future. A big thank you to our partners and everyone who joined us for making this evening unforgettable!
